AutoGuide: Irreverent Kia Soul Adds a Turbo Model For 2017

Looking for a new car that's affordable and distinctive? AutoGuide writer Craig Cole recently spent some time behind the wheel of the new 2017 Kia Soul, the automaker's truly distinctive subcompact sport utility, and says the Soul stands out from the crowd, and not just for its slightly unconventional look. It also features the latest in infotainment technology and provides lots of room for transporting both friends and cargo.

New this year is a turbo version of the Soul, and it provides a welcome power punch. The 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumps out a robust 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. The infotainment system features a crisp, 7.0-inch touchscreen display and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. If you're planning to hit the road soon for a post-college road trip, the Soul should serve you well: it has 61 cubic feet of cargo space when the rear seats are folded.
