While some might call the Soul compact car a "wagon", there is no true estate car offering within the new Kia model lineup; and some of us at Lion Country are downright heartbroken about that.

We were given a brief glimmer of hope last year at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, when the Kia SPORTSPACE concept rolled onto the stage in all of its big, beautiful, wagony glory. But that was short-lived.

Then again, at this year's Geneva Motor Show, we were teased with yet another long-backed model--but this one was ready for production. Its badge states the name of Kia Optima Sportswagon, and its absolutely stunning.

Based on (and built up from) the classic Kia Optima sedan that we love in State College, the all-new Sportswagon would be able to offer a practical and unique alternative to models like the Sorento and the Sportage. Sadly, we won't be seeing the wagon here on our lot. The brand has stated that the Sportswagon will only be available in the European market.

For the moment, at least. We can dream.
